Fishing Report 4/4/23

Hi y’all. I know a lot of residents have packed up and headed to your other homes. To all of you “see you next year”.

Crappie - The bite has slacked off with some numbers still being made. Follow the flotilla of boats on the lake for areas to try. Small jigs topped with a minnow seems to be the ticket. 10’- 15’. Use your graph to find bait balls.
LM Bass - They seem very confused this year with temperatures roller coastering, weed spraying and heavy tournaments fishing have made it very hard to find that Big Fish. Shoreline hasn’t really picked up and offshore weed lines are not setting up well. Not much bait fish has been spotted. Some clear water can be found if you look. Hard bottoms are still producing numbers as well as offshore hydrilla patches. 1.5lbs- 2.5lbs fish seem to be abundant. Soft plastics and swim baits are producing. Large Shiners are producing some nice size bass if that’s your ticket. I’ve spotted some active beds with the oncoming full moon. Still waiting for the fish to get into a summertime pattern.

If anyone wants to contribute to this post please let me know. It will benefit all of us.

Thanks and tight lines.

Happy Easter Y’all.
